Anele Zondo, better known as Ney, revealed last year that she would pursue her love of music. We knew her from our TV screens, and she surprised us with a hot dish of lyrics on Instagram. She later released her debut single, “Ingwe,” and her fans were not disappointed.
Ingwe quickly became a fan favourite, but more importantly, it helped Ney establish herself as the up-and-coming star of local female rap. This year, Ney released “SlimThick,” a follow-up single produced by Playground and featuring award-winning rapper Nadia Nakai. Ney the Bae is shining in this one, really showing off her abilities and development.
The eagerly awaited rap song lived up to the hype as the ladies delivered outstanding performances. Ney and Nadia dropped dope bars and put out a crisp new banger as a duo. Rap fans are all up and ready to let loose! So we know that with this, Ney and Nadia really delivered. We can’t deny that we did not anticipate this partnership, but we can also say that this is one pair we never believed we actually needed.
